左红艳，女，副教授(工学博士/博士后)。主要从事能源动力设备安全科学与工程领域研究工作。先后参与或主持国家自然科学基金面上项目、湖南省自然科学基金面上项目、湖南省社会科学基金项目和湖南省高校创新平台开放基金项目等8项国家级和省部级科研项目。第1作者或通讯作者在《Renewable Energy》、《Energy Conversion and Management》、《Solar Energy》、《Wind Energy》、《Fuel》、《Mathematical Problems in Engineering》和《Journal of Central South University》等期刊发表SCI收录论文10篇，出版学术专著3部，获湖南省科技进步三等奖项和中南大学优秀博士学位论文奖项。兼任《Renewable Energy》、《Energy Conversion and Management》、《Journal of Cleaner Production》和《Journal of Central South University》等国内外10多个期刊审稿专家。
